Pastor Mike Brewer and his wife Sheila are two of the kindest, most prayerful people you’ll ever meet. For over 20 years, they’ve served the city of Belmont and the family of URC with unwavering integrity, compassion, and a deep love for God and people.
Answering the call to Belmont in the late 90s, they began with just a handful of believers gathering in a retired fish house. Today, by God’s grace, that small beginning has grown into a thriving church that’s reaching, equipping, and sending fishers of men into the greater Charlotte region with the power of the Gospel.
Their leadership is marked by sincerity, spiritual authority, and a heart to see lives transformed. Whether in prayer, preaching, or simply greeting you at the door, the Brewers embody what it means to serve with joy.

Assistant Pastor Malachi Brewer and his wife Caitlin have served faithfully alongside his parents in nearly every area of ministry at URC. From worship and preaching to day-to-day operations, they play a vital role in the life of the church. As passionate leaders and young parents, they are deeply committed to reaching the next generation. Whether mentoring youth, planning events, or just sharing a good laugh, they bring energy, warmth, and spiritual depth to all they do. Their heart for God and genuine love for people have made a lasting impact on Belmont and beyond.
